POINT FORTIN ALDERMEN SELECTED

Four Aldermen were selected to join elected members of the Point Fortin Borough Council to complete the required membership of the 11th Council.  They are returning Aldermen Leslie Chang Fong and Saleema Mc Cree-Thomas, who were joined by two (2) new faces, Roamatie Smith and Keith Miller.

Alderman Leslie Chang Fong

Chang Fong attended the then Point Fortin Intermediate RC School, went on to Presentation College San Fernando, The San Fernando Technical Institute, University of Trinidad and Tobago, School of Business and Computer Studies, Edinburgh Business School and Heriot Watt University, where he attained a Master’s in Business Administration.

Alderman Saleema Mc Cree-Thomas

Mrs. Thomas is a graduate of both the Point Fortin Roman Catholic School and Vessigny High Secondary School. The holder of an Associate Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Business Administration, she is currently employed at the Lake Asphalt Company Limited, in the Procurement and Logistics Department and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Business Administration.

Alderman Roamatie Smith

Roamatie hails from Cedros and attended the Icacos Government Primary School, then the Point Fortin Intermediate R.C. School. She is the holder of a Master’s in Education from the University of New Brunswick and also a Bachelor in Education from the same university. Mrs. Smith has been a teacher at both primary and secondary levels for 36 years. She was promoted to the post of senior teacher and retired as principal of the Salazar Government Primary School

Alderman Keith Miller

Keith Miller pursued his tertiary education at San Fernando Technical Institute where he attained Diplomas in the fields of Building Technician and Studio Design. He also attended the John S. Donaldson Technical Institute where he was awarded, Technical Teacher Training Diploma.
He is the founder of local establishments, Crecept Limited and The Garden Jewelz Foundation.

The Aldermen along with the elected Councillors will cast lots to select the next Mayor for the Deep South Borough. This is expected to take place next week.
