3 CAR SMR ACCIDENT CAUSES TRAFFIC DELAY
A three car smashup along the Southern Main Road (SMR) in the vicinity of the Guapo River, in Gonzales Point Fortin, caused some traffic delay to motorist in the area.
At approximately 4pm on Saturday 19th October, eyewitnesses stated that a Black Nissan Cefiro, heading towards Point Fortin, collided with a Burgundy Nissan Almera and a White Hyundai Elantra, both heading in the opposite direction.
Although no one was reported to be seriously hurt or injured, all vehicles involved were incapable of being driven away from the accident and had to be wrecked. The Almera ended up in a ditch on the opposite side of the roadway from where the other two cars remained.
Traffic in the area was affected for over almost 3 hours. WPC Cobham and PC Guerra were on the scene conducting investigations.
