“GANJA” IS OFFICIALLY LEGAL.

President Paula Mae Weeks has began the official process which will make the use of Marijuana in Trinidad and Tobago legal.

President Paula Mae Weeks made the proclamation on Friday December 20.

On Friday 20th December 2019, the president gave assent to the dangerous drugs amendment act law which will become effective from Monday 23rd December 2019.

This is what approximately 25-30 grams of Marijuana looks like.

However, citizens are to remain mindful that there are limits to what persons can have in their possession. Citizens are allowed to be in possession of a maximum 30 gramms of the Cannabis herb and can have four planted trees per household. Persons are not allowed to smoke in public places or operate a vehicle while smoking. The Attorney General has indicated, there are plans to bring legislation to punish persons who drive under the influence of Marijuana.
